"...FOR LEO"

for piano

“...for Leo” is a very short piano piece and dedicated to my four-year-old grandson. It is accompanied by these three stories:
When Leo was three years old and could just touch the white keys of the piano with the Qp of his nose, I asked him to press one of the keys. He chose a black key, the four-stroke D flat, and pressed it as gently as possible so that nothing sounded. I encouraged him to press a lible harder. Now the sound rang out, very sogly, very delicately, very fragile. An unforgebable sight: amazement and a hint of a smile...
Leo loved to spin in circles. And when I tried to slow him down for fear of dizziness, he spun even faster. He fell down, whooped and got up again for the next round. I sQll think about it today: Did the world revolve around him or was it he who made the world go round?
The evening song was part of the ritual of falling asleep. And so the piano piece ends with a hint of a quote from “Weißt Du wieviel Sternlein stehen?” (Do you know how many lible stars (there are up there in the sky?))
